Pink Cactus

My favorite today: Echinocereus var. rigidissimus 'Purpleus'

I don't have many cacti and if I buy them, I select those that cannot poke me. 🌵 So, this beauty not just has its spikes pressed flat but they also have an astonishing pink color! 😍 It's OMG Rainbow 🌈 NO! PINK cactus! 😆

For the past couple of months it was pushing buds and then suddenly 💥'BOOM'💥 - from not so big buds these two huge flowers opened! 🌺🌺

The first day was yesterday, but I saw them when they were half closed already. The thing is they open in the morning and close in the mid day for a few days in a row.

So, today I was able to capture the full open blooms and I'm extremely excited about this. 🤩 Look at this pure pink color and still closed yellow stamen with a purple brush of the pistil! 😍

I believe that cacti have the most beautiful flowers in the world (well, maybe only orchids get ahead).😆 I have been growing it for a year and this is a perfect reward for taking care of it and saving it from squirrels that dug it out twice! 🥰
