My favorite today: Echeveria ‘Orange Monroe’

Each specimen of a species will differ from all others in some way. After all, each living thing is unique, even those that are clones 😄, because genes is one thing, but the environment, which can alter a specimen’s development, is another thing. Soooo… what I want to say with this introduction is that my beautiful Orange Monroe has a slight variation from all others - it has a very thin layer of farina (the white powder that protects it from harsh sunlight).

A thin layer of farina means that the color of the leaves is actually visible compared to those plants that have a thick layer of farina. And THAT is why this Monroe is SO BEATUTIFLY ORANGE. 🧡

Any bright color in a succulent makes me happy. 😄 But orange is my favorite! 🧡 This baby is just a masterpiece! 🤩

In this side shot, it is visible that the lower leaves have their farina removed and the newer leaves still have it. One leaf has random lines, probably, because I pulled out a flower stalk not carefully enough. Oh well... no perfection in this world. 😉

The most contrasting color to orange is BLUE PURPLE. And that’s the color of the pot I have selected for it! 🤩

The diameter is 6”, so lots of room to grow. I’m sure it will fill in nicely in a couple of years. 🧡
